February is Black History Month...

So I feel it necessary not only to highlight and appreciate black culture(we elected a Black President of the United States, Barack Obama during the 2008 election & Black coach Mike Tomlin won the NFL's Superbowl XLIII{43}) but continue to educate & culture ourselves as a people(ALL PEOPLE esp. of Black Descent) so for everyday out the month, we'll compile a list of 28 books to read that embrace the African American "experience" across the diaspora...

...last 3 are classic on film too...always recommended to read the book before seeing the movie...this is just a suggested list but make sure you check out these books and more from these authors and others like them...READING IS FUNDAMENTAL! And in the motto of the United Negro College Fund: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."
