A year ago I had the pleasure of meeting "my homegirl" Shanelle Gabriel from Broooooooooklyyyyyyyyyyn!(Shouts to NY...& ya say New York City)(shouts to Filly on the photo) She is an amazing woman setting her sights on high & accomplishing her dreams&goals, while maintaining a "round-the-way-girl" persona that is quite endearing to those she comes in contact with; & if you ever have the pleasure of meeting her...she'll have a presence that you won't forget from its lasting aura...quite simply she is a breath of fresh air! We chop-it-up from time-to-time & y'all know the kidd stay on the move but shorty is GRINDING(like for REAL)...so I try & catch her when/if I can...but anyways she has a birthday in 2days on the 27th & I thought it necessary to send shouts & wish her love all-the-while showcasing the talented gifts she has inside her. Yo anybody besides me ever get in the mood to play a good spades game??? Sometimes when you just coolin'[chillin', chillaxin, kickin it, hangin' out w/o much to do,etc.] pick up a deck of cards[yea u can go cop some @Walmart...or your neighborhood friendly conveinence store lols] & grab a partner[friend that also knows how to play] & get two opponents & sit down & go @it! Now there are different methods to playing: like when my mom winds her day down after a long day at work, she'll get to the computer & play internet spades @pogo.com[cut the check for the plug-in lols]. Or if you playing at a spades table in the house you can count the deuce[2] of spades as the third joker, when you takeout the 2's of diamonds & hearts & leave them in the box. And make sure before you start you have the rules clear, determine who keeps score, what score are you playing to, & if you play with bags[books made over what you bid, get 10bags & you lose 100 points], and distinguish the big joker from the little one[most decks have the print size to determine, the maverick is big & horse is lil', the big is in color verses the lil' being black&white, or do like folks in the hood or country & grab the scorekeepers pen & write BIG/LIL' on the cards to distinguish]. The first hand[first time everyone goes around] usually bids itself[meaning you don't have to bid together as a team, so however many books your team earns is how many points you get times 10]. Running a Boston means one team gets all 13 books on the 1st go & that's an automatic victory! You get ten points a book[winning the hand thats played] if you make what you & your partner decide to bid together as a team, & if your team bids 10 after the first hand & makes it then you get an additional 100points to the 100 you already earned making it 200 total[this would stink in a 250/350 game]! Okay so if you need further instructions on "playing spades"...then google it! But if you think you got what it takes, then sit on down with three friends, deal out the deck, & get it craccin'...I talk noise when I play too[so get prepared, esp. if I got a good hand...WHAT!?!?!] & don't let me have the big joker! OMG! ;-)

...the reason it was removed was: for being "too dark" as in too much gloom, saddening,aggressive,depressing,etc...whenever an artist is able to "expose" her or himself and be completely naked on record is DOPE! to me because they remove all limits on themselves & allow their audience to acquire a total experience in whatever they're feeling/have felt by "taking the listener to a certain place" which allows for complete transparency and a greater appreciation for their work...its quite humbling[for the artist] & if the music is above par then it creates a certain growth in the artist whereby they reach a new level and from henceforth are able to take off from where they have set a new precedent. I had the privilege of attending a charity ball hosted by the Iota Mu chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha at the Nasher Art Museum on Duke University...I mean yall know "I'm Mr. Popular so go get your binoculars" (I forget who said that off the top of the brain but anyways if I like it I borrow haha) & they had singer/songwriter Teedra Moses(who is bad btw) as the guest performer. So you know I arrived fashionably late(which means yea I was fly but I got lost somewhere on the way) & I missed her entire show which she did like 5 or 6 songs...Now boooooooy you talk about somebody that was irritated @ missing the show, because I've been a "fan"(admirer of her work esp. the 1st album: 'Complex Simplicity'w/cuts like 'Be Your Girl' & 'You'll Never Find'--I'm telling you my Itunes is SERIOUS MAN!) I mean I really wanted to see her& hear her sing(I don't get like this over any1 hardly esp. since I've seen just about everybody perform...name 'em & try me...James Brown had the BEST performance I've ever seen live!) I thought they were kidding when I got there and they said she "just walked off the stage" I was like awwwwwwww maaaaan(in a 1st graders' voice)...so me being me, I saw her walking thru the crowd with her technician, I abruptly stopped her & here is how the conversation goes:

Is the 'art of dating' lost?

Topic of discussion I came across while listening to Russ Parr this morning on the radio: is there a lost art to "dating"? I couldn't believe how stupid some people sounded when they called in to voice their opinions, however I might retract that statement because we do live in a 'Crazy World'. Now I'm not a "sucka for love mm mm sucka for love" lols as Cam would say, but I do think that dating can be fun and interesting so quite frankly I enjoy it...The question begs that while yea I do currently have a significant other ("boo, shorty, wiz, wifey, main joint, etc.) it excites me to do things with her & if I wasn't "bunned-up" I'd still be just as excited to do things with other girls...Call me a ladies' man or whateva but I take pride in knowing that I can call a girl & do lunch or a movie or go bowling or wine tasting or take a sporadic trip somewhere and it be just that. I mean I love my n*ggas but where's my b*tches ya digg...Now the first thing you learn in the 'hood is homeboy love,& its cool to hang w/ya mans& dem & build yall's relationship but who in the woooorld wants to spend ALL DAY w/a bunch of men & girls likewise. Now for me its just as cool to chill @da crib, have nothing to do, have my homeboys over & invite some girls over & just kick. But I mean come on there can't be a "lost art" to dating, because I'm still on earth...SHEEESH! Then they say well what do people expect: i.e."does the man pay for everything if you go out?", "if he does, what is he expecting in return, if anything?", "is it a down payment for "some goodies" later on?", "do ladies think dudes are soft if they show chivalry?", "do ladies use guys for dates& then go home to a dude that dogs them out but he good in the bed?", lmao this 1 girl even said: "how many dates are you supposed to go on before you "jump" into a relationship?" WTF SILLY GIRL??? I mean when you go on dates, they should be used as relationship builders by getting to know someone(their likes & dislikes), you should establish boundaries for expectations in the BEGINNING if there are any, & have knowledge of what exactly a date is: a social appointment, engagement, or occasion arranged beforehand with another person...If you intend on making it more than that then let the other person know (I mean MY STARS! lols) Okay so then it popped up does chivalry exist? Sure it does, I hold doors for females I don't even know when I'm walking out the gas station & if walking downtown I step to the outside of the sidewalk & politely ask the female to step inner if she isn't already. Now you gotta pardon some dudes, because they may be ignorant to this fact(& all this means is that you can't take for granted that everyone had someone to teach them what to do & how to honor & truly respect a female). Anyone that knows me knows I'm "tough"[ain't a hood n*gga, but a n*gga from the hood...see momma stayed on me so I turned out pretty good...but if you wanna try it, sucka now hea we can do it...haha sleep Tylenol PM if I pull it...sh-sh sheep yea count 'em for the rest of your life] or "hard"[pause]or wateva(girls I go out with like this too, because they like to feel protected by the man they're with) and will knock someone's head off[if necessary] so you might not think that I had this level of cordiality, but I do so I hate(well really don't like) when people say "oh yeah, chivalry is dead"...I be wanting to scream like NO IT AINT B*TCH lols & long as I live Imma hip other young men(my sons are gon' be sumthin serious) to the game ya digg??? I'll fill you in{in my opinion of course}...basically it goes: it opens with a "good-looking" Whitney Houston{Say NO to drugs!} coming out to present the grammy for R&B album to a well-deserving Jennifer Hudson{whose performance was a bit lackluster but we feel sorry for her & it was emotional no less}...Al Green performed & needed to sit down somewhere! but not to takeaway from his "classic" singing he also took a few grammys... Katy Perry's performance of 'I Kissed a Girl' was suspect like the song smh... Stevie Wonder performed with Jonas Brothers which was jive cool, T.I. & Justin Timberlake did aite together...Coldplay took home a few & graced us with fantastic tunes as they performed also with HOVA...Estelle & Kanye did well together as they performed the 'American Boy' record right before they presented the best new artist award{which Kanye did not shy away from telling the cameras "neither he or Estelle had won before"} to Adele{who sounded pretty good...abt to add her to the Itunes}...maybe they performed in place of Chris Brown & Riahanna due to their "no-show" for reasons still undisclosed (insider: Brown may be facing felony assault & Ri Ri had a few bruises...come to your own conclusions smh) but performances of the night{still my opinion} goto M.I.A.{who was 9mos. pregnant but still showed up to perform} & Kanye, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne, & T.I. for 'Swagger Like Us' as Queen Latifah deemed them the "Rap Pack" {kinda corny if you ask me but no less its a ploy on the 'Rat Pack' which ft. Pondering Thoughts

You know how you think of things and begin to run through questions in your mind and numerous possibilities of how things can/will turnout...so I guess I've been meaning to post this for awhile & not to damper the "love in the air" atmosphere with Valentines Day fast approaching...I was thinking... What makes girls buy things for guys when THEY HAVE TO KNOW good and well the guy doesn't mean them any good? I know (first-hand) countless stories of dudes(shall remain nameless) who string girls along for whatever they can get out of them(I guess people do this in gen.) especially monetary or material gain. The girls appear as though they're unbeknownst to the fact the guys(in alot of cases not all) are simply using them. Now using people isn't exactly my cup of tea, because I don't believe in being ill-intended towards people since there's this thing called "karma"; however I do feel as though I have the ability to "pull" any woman I want (If I had 5 minutes with Halle Berry, I'd take it & turn it into an hour of dining at a restaurant or a cup of coffee or whatever to further what it is I'm trying to accomplish with her...& physically, mentally, spiritually, etc. {im well-rounded} believe I've got what it takes to "keep her"{esp. physically...so they say ;-) }...just a realistic outlook & where my confidence level is don't misconstrue it as cocky...always humble) & out of all the women that I've ever encountered through relationship or association( this is what I call one-and-done) I have yet to just "use" a female to "get fresh" or "fatten my pockets". It makes me wonder why not though because there are apparently females that LOVE to do things like this. I've heard over the phone(dudes will put you on speaker quick silly rabbits) how me & one of my comrades maybe in a particular bind & they'll be like hold on lemme call _______ & then they'll be like yo put sum $$$ in my account & its done just like that no hesitation. Im like wtf & smh because its sometimes a struggle to get a female to give me a stick of gum, more less getting the new "j's" the night they come out & a fresh fit for the weekend, some rims for the car, press box tickets to the game, high label authentic brand clothing or accessories(i.e. Prada, Gucci, Coach-- I've seen them goto the actual store) a 50 or 60 inch HD plasma flatscreen tv (actual accounts true story). Are the guys feeding them lies?(something else I don't believe in doing--I'm very adamant about being myself & keeping it 100 all times) They gotta know something is up, right? Is it only rich girls that do this? Where are these girls at? Are they blinded bc they feel like they're in love with these guys? Do you just like "taking care" of dudes that just "lay-up" on them? (even my mama aint takin care of no grown man that aint doin nothing) Is it something more to the story, like the dudes are doing something for them and I'm not getting all the details? TALK BACK TO ME PEOPLE! Let me know something. If you're in a relationship & gift exchange is something you and your significant other do, then by all means, I'm not knockin your hustle...that's a sign to show that you care for that person or "you holding each other down"...but if you don't "go with a guy" or you "only hear from him when its convenient" or "he's all the time asking for something", shouldn't that TELL you something! It kinda irritates me a little bit to know that some dudes get away with this & that some girls really are THAT STUPID. OMG... But like I said earlier, "CAN'T KNOCK THE HUSTLE"! So to the girls that are victims of this...SMARTEN UP NAS! lls and to my dudes & those like them who getaway with this: PLAY ON PLAYA! LMAO matta fact pass some my way haha I'M TRYNA GET ON MAN! (i could hear summa my dudes quotin HOV now: " I SHOW YOU HOW TO DO THIS SON") ahht well everything is everything I ain't even mad...jus expressin my thoughts...leave comments about what you think...
